Which lectures are recorded?
In accordance with faculty policy, only mandatory courses in the Master of Laws programme are recorded to support students in their learning process. Recordings are supplementary and do not replace attendance, except in cases of force majeure.
Recordings will become available on:
An exception is made for: working students, elite athletes or artists, students who are ill for more than 4 weeks, and students with special facilities. They will receive early access to the web lectures, from the start of the relevant semester.
Which lectures are not recorded and demand attendance?
Methodological and advanced courses are not recorded. Attendance is mandatory.
Absence without justification is not allowed. If you are absent without justification on one or more occasions, you will be marked as 'AFW' (absent) on your grade list for both exam sessions. In exceptional cases, the lecturer may allow a single exception. If your absence is considered justified, you will receive grade “zero” for the continuous assessment part of that (single) lecture.
If you are absent due to force majeure, you need to substantiate this by sending a medical certificate to the lecturer. Any other form of force majeure will be assessed by the faculty ombudsperson.
You may be absent justifiably for a maximum of two lectures. From the third justified absence, the lecturer will assess whether you can still meet the learning goals. If this is possible, you may continue the course and will receive a replacement assignment to make up for any missed skills. If not, you will be marked as ‘AFW’ (absent) on your grade list for both exam sessions.
How to access web lectures?
The link to the web lectures will be posted in the course on Blackboard under ‘Web lectures’ at the start of the semester. Remember to always use this link, because the link under ‘Books and tools’ is incorrect and leads to an empty folder.
The faculty and lecturers do their best to provide high-quality recordings, but technical can occur. If a lecture was not recorded, we will try to offer an alternative, though this cannot be guaranteed. If there is an issue with a recording, please inform us via the helpdesk by “submitting a ticket”.
