Law-General: Do I need to bring a doctor’s certificate to the faculty student administration office if I am absent during the academic year?

Solution

If you are absent from a lecture, you are in principle not required to provide the faculty student administration with a valid certificate.

For courses that require your presence (e.g. practicals, seminars, or advanced courses  that entail continuous assessment) you will have to provide the lecturer a valid doctor’s certificate.

Should you fail to be present with regard to several courses and you have only one certificate, then you must make photocopies/scans and give each lecturer one copy.

For absence from exams, see 'Can I reschedule an exam?' and 'What do I need to do if I cannot attend an exam due to extenuating circumstances?'
