If your photo in SisA was rejected because it does not meet the conditions as stated in this FAQ article, a reason will also be mentioned.
Below you can read what action you need to take for each reason:
- Background too busy: Make sure there are no other people or parts of people in the background or next to you. Try to avoid a background with too many different colors.
- Copy of photo: Do not use a scan of an existing photo with stamps or markings on it.
- Eyes not visible: Take a photo with your eyes open and without sunglasses or a mask.
- Face not visible enough: Crop your photo so your face is at least 2/3rd of the photo.
- Insufficient contrast: Take a photo with sufficient contrast.
- Landscape instead of portrait: Make sure the photo is in portrait mode. It should not be a horizontal rectangle.
- No front view: Make sure your entire face is visible.
- No portrait dimensions: Make sure your photo has a ratio of 4:3 (H:W).
- Optically distorted: Parts of the photo are distorted.
- Out of focus: Make sure your photo is sharp enough (increase the resolution if necessary).
- Overexposed: Make your photo less bright.
- Square instead of portrait: Make sure the photo is in portrait mode. It should not be square.
- Tilted photo: Make sure your photo is upright when uploading.
- Too much facial shadow: Take a photo without shadow on your face.
- Too much white space: Make sure the photo has no excessive borders (white or black). Crop your photo if necessary.
- Underexposed: Make your photo brighter.
- Unnatural features: Take a photo without abnormal or unnatural color or without image distortion.
