The Education and Examination Regulations do not allow you to retake an exam during the second-session period, if you have already gained a credit for that course during the first-session period.
If you are not a graduating student, you may retake the course the following academic year; you will have to enrol and pay the tuition fee again, and the corresponding number of study points will be deducted from your learning credit. Should you get a higher mark, it will be taken into consideration for the calculation of your degree class; your learning credit will also be adapted accordingly.
However, if you are a graduating student, you may retake the course the following academic year under a credit contract. The results you obtain will not have any influence on the degree with which you graduated earlier or on your degree class, but you will be able to receive a course credit and present it together with your transcript of records to potential employers, thereby demonstrating your knowledge of a specific field.
